NOB HILL COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION

The formation of the Nob Hill Community Association grew out of the transformation and beautification of Wisteria Lane -what used to be an alley between Nicol Street and Victoria Road in Nanaimo. The Association was established by a group of friends and neighbours who wanted to do more for their community - to make it safe and welcoming.

Since the formation of Nob Hill Community Association on January 25, 2016, the group has done the following:

      1. A Community Garden, that started out on one property but has since expanded to a second property. The community garden is geared towards the homeless and low-income families - those who can not afford to buy fresh vegetables, herbs, and fruit.

      2. The Book Nook was created to help the homeless and low-income families. It is filled 3 – 6 times a day. The book nook has also become a support and  resource center for those in need.

     3. The Nob Hill Community Association held a Christmas Dinner on the 26th of December, 2016. More then 250 meals  were professionally prepared and served to people in need - plus, another 30 meals went out the next day.

     4. The Nob Hill Community Association is planning another dinner, to be held in the summer.
The dinner will be a combination BBQ and Pig Roast, with a variety of  vegetarian dishes as well.
